Comino Island

Located in the middle of Malta and Gozo lies the small island of Comino. The small island has a vast selection of caves and reefs. The average depth is 15 meters on all the dives we do there.

Fish feeding and shark tooth hunting are just a couple of activities we carry out on Comino. The following are some of the best dives one can do around Comino island.

Rqieqa Point is one of the dive sites on Comino. It is a thin of land on the south-western tip with a sheer drop-off to 40 metres. Due to the cold currents, large shoals of sardines are frequently seen. Maximum depth is 50 metres.

p31 divesi1 Patrol Boat P31 is a wreck similar to that in Cirkewwa, the P29. This boat was also used by the Armed Forces of Malta for coastal patrol. It was sunk in 2009 and lies upright on a sandy bottom at a depth of about 18 metres.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA         At Lantern Point, a number of large groupers, dentex, colourful sponges, lobsters, starfish and fire worms can be seen. The site has a number of caves, swim throughs and large boulders and the maximum depth is 50 metres. It also offers a vertical tunnel which drops down to some 16 metres. This site is suitable for all divers.

comino st mary cavesSanta Maria Caves are a set of caves one next to the other ideal and a magical place for photographers. The caves entrances are quite shallow and octopus, moray eels, Conga eels, small groupers and other fish are usually seen. Maximum depth is 20 metres.

Santa Maria reefs are suitable for all levels and different routes can be taken to explore the area. The site includes also swim throughs and overhangs.

Alex's Cave Alex's cave has an amazing internal cave. Octopus is regularly seen by divers who prefer this site more than others due to its fantastic views. This site can be visited by divers of all levels and the maximum depth is 16 metres.

San Niklaw Caves are also suitable for all divers. The maximum depth at this site is 14 metres. This site consists of a number of caves and a canyon. Shrimps and octopus can be seen around this site.

Crystal Lagoon is very rich in marine life while the colour of the seabed simply astonishes all those who visit this site.
