Inland Sea

The Inland Sea is also frequently visited by divers. This is a shore dive in Gozo. The Inland Sea is a semi-circular bay connected to the external sea only through a narrow cave.

inland sea After a short surface swim to the entrance of the cave you descend to a depth of 5 meters, this quickly increase to about 18 meters as you start your swim through the cave. The average depth for this dive is 28 meters but if you are a beginner you may choose to do the dive at any shallower depth whilst still getting the full effect of the cave.

Diving out of this bay through the cave is usually done at the bottom to see the breath-taking views which this site offers to divers. The seabed is full of pebbles and the sea is full of beautiful golden cup corals, while as one arrives at the open sea, he will notice big boulders, can explore caverns, swim throughs, overhangs and a big drop in depth to around 50 metres where dampsel fish, parrot fish and other kinds of fish life can be seen. These deep waters are home for numerous types of fish, including quite big ones. It is also a nice activity to snorkel around the inland sea.
